Niche Specialization
Let’s first understand what is a niche and what is specialisation. Niche is a specific targeted market in a broad market.
For example, if we take the tech industry or the tech niche, it is very broad, you have software, cloud, servers, databases, etc.
Each is a world in itself.
So niche is a specific focused area in a more broader market.
So with the above example, a niche would be accessories for laptops in a broad tech market.
A niche market consists of a group of people who are interested in specific verticals within the verticals, so to say.
A specialisation is specialising in a field. It is a set of skills that solves a problem in a niche or area.
For example, we have content creators and we have short form video content creators who know about the first three seconds, and all the other attributes that make the video go viral. This is specialising in that particular vertical.
So a niche specialisation is specialising in a particular area.
For example, a specific eye makeup artist in the beauty niche or a very focused blog that caters to motorcyclists who drive long distances on the weekends.
It’s about being focused and catering to a particular group of people.
Why is a niche important?
A niche is important because without it you will be all over the place even within the target market.
A niche allows you to use your resources effectively and get fast results because of the targeting nature and addressing specific pain points of the audience.
A niche is important because it makes you laser focused on one area and in one problem thus getting you results faster and cheaper.
How to identify niche markets?
Niche markets can be anywhere and everywhere. For example, a content writer who writes for a publication may write for many niches such as moms who just delivered and are in recovery, or he could write about earning methods available online just using one’s smartphone.
It’s about finding the gap and ensuring there’s a demand in the market and specifically addressing it.
Niche markets can be easily spotted once you get a hang of it because it’s the same game over and over of finding gaps and filling those gaps, and sometimes you can even better the already existing offers.
How to Dominate a Niche Market?
- Find what you like talking about.

- Check out the competition and see how your competition is serving the market in your niche.
- Find the gaps in which your competition is lagging and the audience needs to be addressed more and provide your offerings in that area.
- Be always there for your community whenever they need help.
- Do not post content and ghost. Interact with your audience, provide them value in a variety of formats.
- Find which content format is easy to create for you then triple down on it.
